That's that then...

...all over for another year...I hope you all had a good Christmas - ate and imbibed to you own enjoyment and appreciate the gifts you may have received... Now is the time to start planning shoots for 2015...I will spend the evenings now checking flowering times of target species and locating places to find and photograph them. Timings will be checked - sunrise/sunset etc and access issues...all part of being a nature photographer.  Of course, I shall continue to submit images to the Dreamstime Photo Agency - you can keep up to date with my portfolio via this link...feel free to browse and buy if you like an image; also please recommend me to others who may be looking for images...commercial or private.

If you want to keep up with my images on a regular basis you can find them here as always on Flickr or on Facebook.

So...what have I done over the past week? Well in truth not much (photographically that is). My folks came down for Christmas and I have spent everyday cooking and entertaining etc...not much time for Photography. We are spending the next few days in Scarborough so maybe I can get out an about then...I miss being out with the Nikon...
Consequently, images this week will be a selection from the past year...some you may have seen, others maybe not...I hope you like them...

So I shall see you all next week...which will be 2015 I believe...let's make it a good year shall we?

Sunday 21 December 2014

It is still not too late...

...for him to change his mind...I hope you are all continuing to be good because if not...the big, judgmental guy in the red suit might not pay you a visit after all... Yep - this is my last post before Christmas and I expect you are all prepared...presents bought and wrapped; turkey ordered; veg stored away; sprouts boiling away? Nope? Well get on with it!!!

Today (Saturday) we went out with the rest of the masses and did some last minute shopping - why do we all leave it until the last minute? I suppose Christmas wouldn't be Christmas if we didn't put ourselves through the stress shopping without a clue what we will buy...

Photographically it has been an OK week...managed to get out with my camera at least once around Ely...

my favourite image of the week...

Before this, last Sunday we went down to Welney Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Reserve to watch the wild swans at dusk...an old friend of mine is now warden down there and it was great to see him again and catch up...After listening to an interesting talk about the wild swans that use the reserve - whooper and Bewick's, we watched him put some grain out for the birds - great views of wildfowl for everyone but especially Quinn, who was enthralled... The visit ended as the sun set and we witnessed thousands of whooper swans flying in to roost...a magical experience - I cannot recommend it highly enough...

whooper swans and drake pochard...(plus one coot)

mute and whooper swan's feeding...

I love the blurry, atmospheric feel to this last one...

And that about wraps it up for this week...I shall leave you with a selection of highlights from this past year...

Of course over the Festive break I shall be updating my Facebook page... as always and of course my Flickr page... on an almost daily basis...

My work continues to be accepted here on Dreamstime so you can always look at my work there and even buy it if you like...

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas - I hope you all have Peace and Light in your lives and I shall see you again next week...
