It's like the Forth Bridge...

...this painting never seems to end...still have some to do and it never seems to get less...I may not be the fastest painter and my lady keeps giving me other tasks to do; the house still isn't finished... Today I was making bookshelves and managed to slice into my thumb with the saw...so that is now sore...a bloody plaster adorns my left hand...

As for photography, well it has been slow AGAIN...as I spend all my time - well see above!  I occasionally get out into the garden or orchard for a few minutes...

If anyone wants to give the garden plants a name please feel free...

In addition to the flowers just occasionally I find an insect or two - they are, after all my favourite subject...

The highlight from the garden was a visit from a spotted flycatcher...

The other week I had the Saturday off from DIY to run a photography workshop - great weather and a really enjoyable day...I hope the clients enjoyed themselves...

So that was that really...until this last week end when we had a trip to my favourite nature reserve - Gibraltar Point in Lincolnshire...despite the rain we met up with some dear friends...the highlight of the holiday for me...and during the walk round I managed a few shots...

The eyes have it...

It is very frustrating to lose what amounts to a whole month of shooting...income dries up as the agency receives fewer submissions and the insurance shoots have to take a back seat whilst the house is done...to cap it all the guy who is helping us do things like the bathroom etc has had to stay at home to look after his injured wife...all these things are sent to try us...all part of life's rich tapestry so to speak.

School starts again this week so maybe I will have some time to burn some pixels - I have a new project in mind; to document the seasons in the orchard...so I expect plenty of dewy type shots plus autumnal colours will be the initial target...keep your eyes peeled for that theme running through the coming year.

I shall leave you this week with a composition of a seven year old doing what seven year olds do...

And that about sums up the last month or so...I hope to return to more regular and frequent blogs when this house thing is done...I shall take some pictures when it is all finished so you can see what I have been up to...

Hope to see you all soon...
